The Wynnum State School project involved the complete redevelopment of a former high school site to incorporate the amalgamation of two separate primary schools as well as the Moreton Bay Environmental Education facilities .
The redevelopment was broken into 2 stages – the first comprising of the design & planning approval stage followed by the construction stage.
Stand out features of this building include 6 star Green design & as-built rating. photovoltaic array for power generation, full natural ventilation and zero nett energy target.
The project included the design and construction of three car parks, a drop off zone, and the construction of a large new irrigated sports field / oval.
We implemented a light weight steel design to the project, implemented to save time for a compressed program. The entire structure was modified to suit a lightweight steel model which allowed for erection of entire 2 storey 100m long building in 7 days.
