School Infrastructure NSW grouped together various schools that require upgrade works and additional teaching facilities.
The schools continued operations during the expansion and upgrade works, so consideration was made to the appropriate staging of construction and the provision of demountable accommodation.
Each project provided appropriate core facilities to modern best practice in line with the Department’s Education Facilities Standards and Guidelines and to facilitate 21st Century and Future Focused learning objectives.
Richmond High School
Located in the Western Sydney District, this project involved the replacement of Richmond High School’s Bini shell dome with a multi-purpose gymnasium. This project alleviated ongoing safety concerns and escalating maintenance costs associated with the Bini Shell. The works also involved the demolition of toilet block B011 and incorporation of toilet block in new gymnasium facility.
