The project involved the refurbishment of 28 Q Blocks, 6 P Blocks, Armoury/Office Building (H0390) & the Integrated Medical Facility. The project is within Lone Pine Barracks which is a Defence assets infrastructure area part of the Singleton Military Area. The works were carried out in a staged approach to facilitate the ongoing occupation and use of the Base.
The purpose of the project is the following for each of the building types:
Q BLOCKS, 28 BUILDINGS
The existing accommodation is primarily designed as a dormitory type configuration and does not allow for mix sex trainees. The objective of upgrading these building is to allow for the use and occupation and by mixed sex trainees
P BLOCKS, 6 BUILDINGS
The existing ablutions do not allow for mixed sex use. To meet the Commanding Officer (CO) directive for the removal of Gender Restriction the abolition are required to be upgraded for mixed-sex use.
BUILDING H0390 – ARMOURY OFFICE/MAGAZINE STORE
The existing building does not meet DDA compliance. Generally, the purpose of the upgrade is to make the existing facility code compliant
BUILDING M0605 – INTEGRATED HEALTH FACILITY
This facility is the main Medical Facility within SMA. Generally, the purpose of the works is to upgrade alarms to protect high value vaccines stored within the facility.
