St Hilliers was awarded the Design and Construct contract for a new 2-level, 6 GLA building in the middle of the existing school. The scope of work also included an open undercroft for future infill and other minor works inside school grounds. The project was part of Queensland’s school infrastructure program which upgraded and expanded schools across the state.
The project created almost 20 jobs in the local Mackay region.
Due to the nature of the special school, St Hilliers implemented regular communication lines with school representatives and stakeholders to ensure a smooth delivery of the project and minimal impact on the daily school operations. St Hilliers also implemented viewing panels into the hoarding to allow students to view the progress of the project.
Over and above the ordinary project deliverables, communication between the project team and the school was the key to being able to provide satisfaction to all stakeholders.
