The project encompassed the detailed design and construction of new ARFF facilities together with all associated access at Hamilton Island airport.
The method of work for all construction activities was carefully planned and delivered to allow for the strict constraints of working airside in these critical airways operational facilities.
The key user requirement was to a create a Category 6 Fire Station that was modular in design and construction, allowing for relocation to other sites around Australia as required.
At completion of commissioning activities for the ARFF facility the existing ARFF facility was decommissioned, demolished and removed from site.
All works were planned to avoid any impact on the operational performance of the existing ARFF service, which was required to continue throughout this project.
